Matthew worked as a producer at Blindeye films for 5 years, making music promos for the likes of Kasabian and Noel Gallagher, and commercials for brands such as Lenovo and Apple Pay. During that time, he also produced several short films which played at festivals around the world, including ‘Camelot’, which screened at Cinequest film festival, and ‘Clean Sheets’ which was viewed over 80k times on Vimeo. As a producer, his feature film ‘Hackney Marsh’ was selected for development through Film London’s 2016-17 Microwave scheme.
In 2016 he turned his attention to writing and directing. He has directed music promos for AMBER RUN, DAVID GRAY and RUKHSANA MERRISE and commercial content for ADIDAS and WAHL. In 2015/16 he wrote and directed RUMBLE, his first narrative short which went to on screen internationally at festivals.
In 2018 he directed his second short film, ‘Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea’, which was co-written with writer Edward Cripps and part funded by Film London’s London Calling Shorts Scheme.
